WAUSAU – The Stratford boys basketball team won its fourth-straight game, defeating Wausau Newman Catholic 56-39 in a Marawood Conference South Division game Friday night at Newman Catholic High School.
Henry Zaleski scored 12 points and Drew Bruesewitz added 10 in the win for the Tigers, who are now 17-5 overall and 10-4 in the Marawood South. Click here to view the Marawood South boys basketball standings
Stratford shot only 39 percent from the field, but made 17 of 20 at the free throw line to pull away.
Caleb Wrensch and Brady Schmidt both chipped in nine points for Stratford.
Newman Catholic drops to 4-17 overall and 2-11 in the Marawood South.
Stratford will wrap up its regular season with road games at Auburndale on Monday and at Wisconsin Rapids Assumption on Thursday.
