RHINELANDER – The Marshfield gymnastics team had a strong second-place finish in the Large Division standings at the 2024 Great Northern Conference Gymnastics Meet on Saturday at Rhinelander High School, earning its sixth-straight conference championship.
Medford/Colby won the GNC Meet title with a score of 136.075, with Marshfield second with 134.125 points. Combined with its undefeated dual meet season in the GNC, Marshfield wins the overall conference title.
Serenah Tippett won the floor exercise with a score of 9.0, just ahead of teammate Alyvia Dietsche, who was second with an 8.95.
Medford/Colby’s Kyla Krause won the other three events and the all-around title.
Abigail Pietsch was third in the vault (9.05) and fourth the floor (8.825), Solenne Lonsdale placed third in the uneven bars (8.25), and Dietsche tied for fifth in the uneven bars (8.15) for Marshfield’s other top-five finishes.
Marshfield will compete at a WIAA Division 1 sectional on Saturday, Feb. 24, at Chippewa Falls. Competition begins at 11 a.m.
