WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Stratford boys basketball team opened up a 15-point lead by halftime and cruised to a 58-41 win over Wisconsin Rapids Assumption in its regular-season and Marawood Conference South Division finale on Thursday at Assumption High School.
Stratford led 31-16 at the break and finished off its sixth win in a row and eighth in their last nine games.
Henry Zaleski scored 15 points, Brady Schmidt added 12, and Drew Bruesewitz had 10 points, seven rebounds and three steals for the Tigers, who finish the regular season at 19-5 overall and 12-4 in the Marawood South.
Assumption ends its regular season at 11-13 and 7-9 in the conference.
Stratford will enjoy a week off before hosting a WIAA Division 4 regional semifinal against the winner of Tuesday’s quarterfinal between Abbotsford and Washburn on Friday, March 1.
