CHIPPEWA FALLS – No. 1 seed Chippewa Falls McDonell rolled out to a big lead at halftime and defeated No. 4 Stratford 85-41 in a WIAA Division 4 girls basketball regional final Saturday night at McDonell Central High School.
The Macks (24-2) cruised out to a 57-18 lead by halftime and went on to finish off the win and end Stratford’s season. The Tigers finish the year at 14-12.
Chippewa Falls McDonell moves on to a sectional semifinal against Phillips (24-2) on Thursday at Ladysmith.
Emily Zuelke scored 11 points and Kayla Casperson had 10 for Stratford.
Ellie Mae Cooper and Emily Cooper each scored 17 points for McDonell.
