Marshfield girls basketball team blows out Rhinelander

MARSHFIELD – Eleni Seitz, Taylor Varsho and Alyssa Brenner led a balanced scoring attack, each scoring 16 points, to push the Marshfield girls basketball team to a 69-31 nonconference win over Rhinelander on Tuesday night at Marshfield High School.

Marshfield breezed out to a 22-8 lead after the first quarter and were ahead 35-14 at halftime. The Tigers cruised from there, rolling to their second straight win and improving to 6-2 on the season.

Brenner made 8 of 10 shots from the field and Seitz was 7 of 12 as Marshfield shot 48 percent (32 of 66) from the field.

Varsho filled the stat sheet with eight rebounds, seven steals and six assists.

Marshfield plays at Wausau East on Friday.
