MARSHFIELD – Ade Dillon, Phil Kubica and Nolan Hall finished 1-2-3 in the 100-yard butterfly and Marshfield won a pair of relays to push past Wisconsin Rapids for a 91-79 Wisconsin Valley Conference dual meet victory Thursday at the Marshfield High School Fieldhouse.
The 200 medley relay team of Aaron Scheets, Michael Josephson, Dillon and Jake Akin placed first in 1:49.17, and the team of Akin, Scheets, Josephson and Dillon won the 400 freestyle relay in 3:39.43 to clinch the victory for the Tigers.
“We have been working the guys hard,” Marshfield coach Faye Egger said. “Our spirits were positive, which pulled us together for the win. Every member of the team contributed to the final score. We could not have done it if we didn’t have the second-, third- and fourth-place finishes.”
Other winners for Marshfield included Dillon in the 100 butterfly (1:01.24), Josephson in the 500 free (5:44.80) and Scheets in the 100 backstroke (59.76). Tom Stevning-Roe took second in the 100 back.
Wisconsin Rapids’ Ryan Korslin set a new pool record in the 100 breaststroke, finishing in a time of 1:01.34.
Marshfield’s JV team won 91-23.
Marshfield has a week off before swimming at Stevens Point on Jan. 20.
