Fourth-quarter run lifts Auburndale boys basketball past Rib Lake

AUBURNDALE – Jake Hansen scored 19 points and Auburndale busted open a tight game with a solid fourth quarter to beat Rib Lake 58-51 in a nonconference boys basketball game Thursday night at Auburndale High School.

The game was tied 43-43 heading into the fourth quarter before Auburndale outscored the Redmen 15-8 over the final 8 minutes.

Auburndale improves to 9-2 with the win, while Rib Lake drops to 7-4.

Hansen made 9 of 15 field goals and added six rebounds to lead the Apaches. Kyle Greunke was 6 of 7 from the floor, making 3 of 4 3-point attempts, to add 15 points for Auburndale.

Ethan Kohls and Daniel Petkau each had 16 points for Rib Lake.

Auburndale returns to Marawood Conference South Division action Tuesday at Stratford. The Tigers (7-4) are riding a five-game win streak.
