MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield boys golf team hosted a nine-team tournament at RiverEdge Golf Course on Tuesday, finishing in third place.
Stevens Point won the team title with a score of 349, 13 shots better than runner-up Merrill. Marshfield was third with a 365 in windy conditions on its home course.
Conner Lingen of Medford won meet medalist honors with an 81, one shot better than Jacob Schmeltzer of Merrill.
Keegan Fredrick led Marshfield with an 87 as he finished in seventh overall. Eli Kruger added a 90, Tyler Heiman shot a 91, Magnus Machtan had a 92 and Maxx Oertel had a 95 to round out Marshfield’s scoring.
Marshfield will compete with Stevens Point, Wisconsin Rapids and Wausau West at a quadrangular at Bullseye Golf Club in Wisconsin Rapids on Monday.
