MARSHFIELD – Shelby Spata had three hits and drove in four runs as the Columbus Catholic softball team ripped Colby/Abbotsford 12-1 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game Friday at the Marshfield Fairgrounds.
The Dons rolled out to a 5-1 lead after two innings and finished off the game with a seven-run fourth, ending it after 4½ innings via the 10-run rule.
Mattea Schlafke, Ryan Dieringer and Ciena Adler each added two hits in the win for the Dons, who are now 6-2 overall and 3-0 in the Cloverbelt East.
Akosua Yeboah allowed just two hits and one walk while striking out six to earn the pitching win for Columbus.
Columbus Catholic will host Rib Lake for a nonconference game Monday at the Fairgrounds starting at 5 p.m.
