MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield softball team had only four hits in a nonconference doubleheader against Eau Claire North, but managed a split in the twinbill Saturday at Madison Field.
Marshfield had only one hit in Game 1 but pulled out a 3-2 victory, while Eau Claire North turned the tables and won Game 2 by the same 3-2 score.
In the opener, Marshfield scored three unearned runs in the third inning as North (3-7) committed three errors. Taylar Weis had the Tigers’ only hit.
Katelyn Sternweis struck out 10 and walked two to earn the pitching win for Marshfield.
In Game 2, Madilynn Cole hit a solo home run to account for one of the two Marshfield runs.
Marshfield (5-6) will play at D.C. Everest on Tuesday.
