MARSHFIELD – Marshfield won 16 events, which included a pair of double event winners, as it hosted the Wood County Track & Field Meet on Tuesday at Heiting Community Stadium at Marshfield High School.
Team scores were not available for the meet, which also included Marshfield Columbus Catholic, Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin Rapids Assumption, Pittsville, Port Edwards, Nekoosa and Auburndale.
Ashley Grancorvitz placed first in the girls triple jump (34 feet, 11 inches) and the 100-meter hurdles (17.43 seconds), and Ethan Knecht won the boys discus (128-11) and shot put (46-11¾) to finish as double-winners for Marshfield.
Other winners for the Marshfield girls were Devyn LeMoine in the pole vault (10-0), Gracie Ridgway in the high jump (4-10), Ayana Bousum in the long jump (15-3½), Natalie Scharenbroch in the 1,600 (5:31.31), Ella Allar in the 300 hurdles (52.26), and the 3,200, 800 and 400 relay teams.
Joshua Peters took first in the 110 hurdles (18.18), Thomas Cashmer won the 1,600 (4:36.32), Owen Hoerneman won the 800 (2:08.62), and the 800 relay team also won for the Marshfield boys.
Columbus Catholic’s Isaac Scheer won the boys 3,200 (10:06.50) and placed second in the 1,600 (4:38.35), while Lucky Laessig finished second in the boys discus (116-9) for the Dons.
Auburndale won three events. The girls, 1,600 relay team finished first in 4:26.53, William Akins won the boys pole vault (10-6) and Trevor Trowbridge was first in the boys 300 hurdles (45.22).
