MARSHFIELD – The Columbus Catholic baseball team kept its perfect Cloverbelt Conference East Division record intact with a 13-2 rout of Neillsville on Thursday at Jack Hackman Field.
After falling behind 2-0 in the top of the first, Columbus Catholic scored three times in the bottom of the frame and rolled from there, pouring it on with an eight-run third and won in five innings via the 10-run rule.
Mac Konieczny tossed a complete game for the Dons (8-1, 4-0 Cloverbelt East), striking out five with only one walk. He also had two RBI in the win.
Carter Sommer had a two-run single in the first inning and Emmitt Konieczny added two RBI for the Dons.
Columbus Catholic will play a nonconference game at Auburndale on Monday.
