SPENCER – The Spencer baseball team won its third-straight game with a walk-off nine-inning 6-5 victory over Gilman in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game Friday at Spencer High School.
Wyatt Nieman led off the bottom of the ninth with a walk, stole second and scored on a single by Kayden Dietsche to win it for Spencer (5-6, 3-3 Cloverbelt East).
Reed Knecht went 4-for-4 with two RBI, and Tyler Peterson and Dietsche each had two hits in the win for Spencer.
Nieman also earned the pitching win, allowing one run in four innings of relief with eight strikeouts. Starter Dalton Post went five innings, striking out six.
Spencer’s next game is Tuesday at Neillsville.
