SPARTA – The Marshfield boys golf team capped off a busy week with a fifth-place finish in the Division 1 standings at the Spartan Boys Golf Invitational on Saturday at River Run Golf Course in Sparta.
Holmen won the D-1 team title with a score of 329, nine shots in front of Baraboo. Marshfield was fifth with a score of 348.
Collin Ritter of Tomah won medalist honors with a 79. Marshfield’s Keegan Fredrick was among four golfers that tied for second with 80s.
Tyler Heiman added an 88, Magnus Machtan shot an 89, Afton Hamill had a 91 and Maxx Oertel finished with a 98 to round out Marshfield’s scoring.
Marshfield will compete at the second leg of the Wisconsin Valley Conference Tournament on Tuesday at Greenwood Hills Country Club in Wausau.
