AUBURNDALE – Morgan Griesbach struck out eight in a complete game pitching effort and also had three hits and two RBI as the Auburndale softball team defeated Marathon 4-2 in a Marawood Conference South Division softball game Tuesday at Auburndale High School.
Griesbach allowed two sixth-inning runs and just five hits, while chipping in BRI doubles in the third and fifth innings for the Eagles (10-3, 5-2 Marawood South).
Danika Blomberg added two hits for Auburndale.
Marathon’s Danica Staus smacked a two-run home run for the Raiders’ only runs.
The two teams will play again Thursday at Marathon.
