Columbus Catholic wins five events at Gilman Track Invitational

GILMAN – Isaac Scheer and Aubrey Waldhauser were each double-winners for the Marshfield Columbus Catholic track team at the Gilman Invitational on Tuesday.

Scheer won the boys 1,600 meters (4:34.09) and 3,200 (10:24.25), while Waldhauser was first in the girls triple jump (29 feet, 9½ inches) and the high jump (5-0).

Lucky Laessig also added a victory in the boys discus (119-10) for the Dons.

Cal Birkhauser had a runner-up finish in the boys 800 (2:07.74) and Dakota Hannasch placed second in the boys 300 hurdles (47.23) as well for Columbus.

Alexander Baumgarten placed second in the boys pole vault (11-0) and Autumn Davis was runner-up in the girls 400 (1:09.33) for Spencer’s top performances.

Team scores were not reported.

Columbus Catholic will be back in action Friday at the Stratford Invitational.
