WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Wisconsin Rapids scored seven runs in the first two innings and went on to defeat Marshfield 8-4 in a Wisconsin Valley Conference softball game Wednesday at Lincoln High School.

Sydney Holberg and Gabby Neilitz each homered for the Raiders (10-4, 5-3 Wisconsin Valley Conference).

Ashlyn Barwick and Madison Kraus each had two hits, and Taylar Weis had a double and two RBI for Marshfield (9-9, 4-4 WVC).

Marshfield hosts Mosinee for a nonconference game Friday at 5 p.m. at Madison Field.
