MARSHFIELD – Undefeated Mosinee smashed 13 hits, seven for extra bases, and rolled past Marshfield 13-2 in a nonconference softball game Friday at Madison Field.
Taelyn Jirschele had a single, two triples and drove in three runs, and Emily Verhasselt finished with a double, a triple and four RBI for Mosinee (16-0), the top-ranked team in this week’s Wissports.net Division 2 state coaches poll.
Marshfield was held to two runs, both coming in the third inning, when Taylar Weis and Delaney Varsho scored on passed balls.
Marshfield’s next game is Tuesday at Stevens Point.
