PLATTEVILLE – A number of local high school alumni left their marks at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Track & Field Championships, which was held Friday and Saturday at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.
Marshfield graduate Gracie Holland, a junior at UW-Whitewater, won the women’s pole vault with a vault of 3.92 meters, and Spencer grad Hannah Zastrow won the women’s 100-meter hurdles in 13.65 seconds for UW-Stout.
Holland also placed eighth in the long jump (5.55 meters), and Zastrow was third in the high jump (1.64 meters).
Marshfield’s Michaela Dick, competing for UW-Eau Claire, placed third in the 400 hurdles (1:04.27) and was on the third-place 1,600 relay team for the Blugolds (3:57.22).
Another Marshfield grad, Kaydee Johnson, placed 10th in the javelin throw for UW-La Crosse with throw of 32.53 meters.
Spencer graduate Leah Zastrow added a seventh place finish in the pole vault (3.47 meters) for UW-Stout.
On the men’s side, three Marshfield graduates were part of four top-four finishes at the WIAC meet.
Caden Pearce and Addison Hill were part of UW-La Crosse’s winning men’s 1,600 relay team (3:12.71), while Pearce placed third (47.86) and Hill fourth (47.93) in the 400 meters.
James Ketterer was part of UW-Platteville’s third-place 1,600 relay team (3:16.05), and took 16th in the triple jump (13.41 meters).
Stratford’s Conner Weigel placed 21st in the men’s triple jump (13.15 meters).
UW-La Crosse won both team titles.
