WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Brady Schmidt threw a five-inning, one-hit shutout as the Stratford baseball team kept its Marawood Conference South Division title hopes alive with an 11-0 win over Wisconsin Rapids Assumption on Monday at Witter Field.

The Tigers scored in all five of their at-bats, finishing the game off by the 10-run rule with a five-run fifth.

Schmidt struck out five and walked only one, giving up a lone single with one out in the second inning before retiring the final 11 batters he faced. Schmidt also had a hit and drove in three runs for Stratford.

Henry Zaleski had two hits and three RBI, and Brady Berg and Jack Tubbs also had two hits apiece for Stratford, which can tie Marathon for the Marawood South championship with a win at home on Thursday over Assumption when the two teams meet again for the final conference game of the season.
