Marshfield wins 19 events, both team titles at home track invite

MARSHFIELD – Marshfield won 19 events and both team titles at its home Marshfield Track Invitational on Friday at Heiting Community Stadium at Marshfield High School.

The Marshfield girls finished with 269.5 points, with Spencer taking fifth with 39 and Columbus Catholic sixth with 29.

Marshfield won the boys title with 243 points, with Columbus Catholic second with 111.5 and Spencer sixth with 27.

Ashley Grancorvitz was a triple-winner for the Marshfield girls, taking first in the triple jump (35 feet, 9¾ inches), the shot put (32-4½) and the 100-meter hurdles (17.01 seconds).

The Marshfield girls won three relay titles as the 800 team of Ayana Bousum, Hannah Ridgway, Alyssa Foemmel and Ryann Kilty won in 1:54.30; the 1,600 team of Natalie Scharenbroch, McKenzie Holm, Lily Adler and Ella Allar was first in 4:19.10; and the 400 team of Gracie Ridgway, Emma Ridgway, Olivia Page and Devyn LeMoine won in 50.55 seconds.

LeMoine also won the pole vault (10-0), Gracie Ridgway won the high jump (5-0), Hannah Ridgway was first in the long jump (16-3), Page won the 100 (12.74), Allar took first in the 300 hurdles (49.90), Adeline Lonsdale won the 800 (2:33.20) and Kilty was first in the 200 (27.50).

On the boys side, Marshfield’s Ethan Knecht won the shot put (46-5¼) and the discus (140-6), Dirk Vanderwyst was first in the high jump (6-0), Jackson Anderson sprinted to victory in the 100 (11.42), Thomas Cashmer won the 1,600 (4:35.51) and Trey Parr won the 400 (55.33).

The Columbus Catholic boys earned a pair of victories as Cal Birkhauser won the 800 in 2:08.40 and Isaac Scheer was first in the 3,200 (10:02.60).

Columbus Catholic and Spencer will compete at the Cloverbelt Conference Meet at Colby on Tuesday.

Marshfield will be at the Wisconsin Valley Conference Meet at Wausau West on Tuesday.
