ADAMS – The Columbus Catholic softball team pounded out 14 hits and cruised to an 11-4 nonconference win over Adams-Friendship on Monday at Adams-Friendship High School.
The Dons scored five times in the first inning and added four more in the fourth to open up a huge lead
Shelby Sparta continued her torrid streak at the plate, going 4-for-5 with a triple, two RBI and three runs scored to pace the Dons’ offense. She is 17-for-22 in her last six games.
Akosua Yeboah earned the win as she went the distance for Columbus Catholic (15-5), striking out seven without a walk. She also drove in four runs.
Columbus Catholic will finish its Cloverbelt Conference East Division season at Owen-Withee on Tuesday, before wrapping up regular-season play Thursday at Stratford.
