STRATFORD – The Stratford baseball team handed Pittsville its first loss of the season while extending its winning streak to 11 with a 13-1 rout on Tuesday at the Tiger Stadium Baseball Field.

The Tigers scored nine times in the third inning to blow the game open and rode the arm of Brady Schmidt, who struck out eight, walked three and allowed just one hit in a five-inning complete game.

Henry Zaleski, Jack Tubbs and Schmidt all had two hits and two RBI in the win for Stratford (17-6).

Stratford will host Nekoosa on Thursday.
