Miscues pile up in Spencer baseball’s loss to Marathon

SPENCER – Marathon took advantage of eight errors and five walks by Spencer to defeat the Rockets 8-1 in a nonconference baseball game Tuesday at Spencer High School.

Blake Underwood threw a complete game for Marathon (18-3), allowing four hits and no walks, to earn the win.

Cooper Hoeksem and Drew Woelfel each drove in two runs for Marathon.

Tyler Peterson had a double and scored the only run for Spencer (6-12).

Spencer will play its final Cloverbelt Conference East Division game of the season Friday at home against Loyal.
