WAUSAU – The Marshfield girls won three events and placed third, while the boys finished fifth at the 2024 Wisconsin Valley Conference Track & Field Meet on Tuesday at Wausau West High School.
Wausau West won the girls team title with 165 points, just 4½ points ahead of Stevens Point. Marshfield placed third with 150½ points.
Stevens Point cruised to the boys team title with 218 points, with D.C. Everest a distant second with 162. Marshfield took fifth with 71 points.
Ashley Grancorvitz won the girls triple jump with a jump of 35 feet and Emma Ridgway took first in the high jump with a leap of 5-2 for Marshfield’s two individual conference titles.
The Marshfield girls 800-meter relay team of Ryann Kilty, McKenzie Holm, Ayana Bousum and Emma Ridgway added another win for the Tigers, finishing in 1:48.45.
Earning runner-up finishes for the Marshfield girls were the 400 relay team of Devyn LeMoine, Alyssa Foemmel, Gracie Ridgway and Olivia Page in 50.83 seconds, Page in both the 100 (12.91) and the 200 (26.30), LeMoine in the pole vault (10-0), Gracie Ridgway in the high jump (5-2) and McKenzie Holm in the 800 (2:24.61).
Ethan Knecht also added a second-place finish for Marshfield in the boys discus with a throw of 149-6.
Marshfield will compete at a WIAA Division 1 regional at D.C. Everest on Monday.
