Spencer girls basketball team wins nonconference game over Edgar

SPENCER – Krystal Weier scored a game-high 15 points on 5 of 7 shooting to lead the Spencer girls basketball team to a 45-35 win over Edgar in a nonconference game Monday night at Spencer High School.

Weier also connected on 4 of 4 from the free-throw line and had four rebounds for the Rockets, who improve to 8-2. Edgar falls to 6-4.

Spencer led 21-16 at halftime and used a 13-8 third quarter to pull ahead by 10, a lead it maintained at the end of the game.

Aubrie Bissonette added seven points and eight rebounds for Spencer.

Jena Hedimann had nine points for Edgar.

The Rockets return to Cloverbelt Conference East Division action Thursday at Greenwood.
