Columbus Catholic baseball no-hits Greenwood to finish Cloverbelt East season unbeaten

GREENWOOD – The Columbus Catholic baseball team finished off an undefeated Cloverbelt Conference East Division championship with an 11-0 win over Greenwood on Thursday at Greenwood Elementary School.

Cy Becker, Carter Sommer and Carson Eckes combined on a five-inning no-hitter for the Dons, who are now 14-1 overall and finish 10-0 in the Cloverbelt East.

Emmitt Konieczny had an RBI triple in the first inning, Blake Jakobi had a bases-loaded three-run double in the second and Eckes went 2-for-2 with three RBI for Columbus Catholic.

The Dons will play Rosholt and Amherst at the Rosholt Triangular on Saturday starting at 10 a.m.
