MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield softball team scored twice in the fourth inning and rode the arm of pitcher Katelyn Sternweis to a 2-1 nonconference win over Shawano on Thursday at Madison Field.

Avery Kelnhofer had an RBI single and scored on a wild pitch to produce both runs for the Tigers, who improve to 11-14 this season.

Sternweis struck out seven, did not walk a batter, and allowed just one run and five hits to pick up the win for Marshfield.

Marshfield will wrap up its regular season with a Wisconsin Valley Conference game at Wausau East on Friday at 4:30 p.m.
