SPENCER – Loyal scored five times in the second inning and held off Spencer for a 6-2 win in the Cloverbelt Conference East Division baseball finale for both teams on Friday at Spencer High School.
Spencer scored twice in the fifth inning when Dalton Post and Drake Johnson both walked with the bases loaded, but that would be all the Rockets could muster as they fall to 6-13 overall and end up 4-6 in the Cloverbelt East.
Spencer will play its final regular-season game Monday at Wittenberg-Birnamwood and will open postseason play with a Division 3 regional quarterfinal at Crandon on Thursday.
