MEDFORD – The Stratford baseball team had its 12-game winning streak snapped as it dropped both ends of a doubleheader to Medford 2-0 and 5-3 on Friday at Medford High School.

Medford pitcher Tanner Hraby held Stratford to just one hit in the opener – a one-out single by Henry Zaleski in the seventh inning – and finished off the shutout with a double play. He also had a single and an RBI for the Raiders.

Zaleski suffered the loss, giving up just two runs and six hits with four strikeouts in a complete-game effort for Stratford.

In Game 2, Stratford scored twice in the first inning as Brady Berg knocked in a run with a single and Zaleski had an RBI groundout.

Medford tied the game with two runs in the third inning before Stratford pulled ahead again with a run in the top of the sixth on a sacrifice fly by Alec Chapel.

The Raiders responded with a three-run bottom of the sixth and pulled out the doubleheader sweep.

Jack Tubbs had two of Stratford’s six hits in the loss.

Stratford will play Mosinee at Athletic Park in Wausau at 7 p.m. Monday.
