WAUSAU – Marshfield pounded out 17 hits and scored multiple runs in three separate innings on its way to a 13-3 win over Wausau East in a Wisconsin Valley Conference softball game Friday at East High School.
Katelyn Sternweis went the distance on the mound for the Tigers, striking out 10, and allowing five hits and four walks.
Avery Kelnhofer and Lydia Garvin each had three hits, two runs scored and an RBI for the Tigers, who finish the regular season at 12-14 overall and end up 6-6 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference.
Arianna Pugh, Madilynn Cole, Lillian Griesbach and Madison Kraus all added two hits for Marshfield.
Marshfield will play a WIAA Division 1 regional semifinal at Hudson on Tuesday.
