AUBURNDALE – Top-seeded Auburndale had no trouble with No. 8 seed Necedah, rolling to a 15-0 win in a WIAA Division 4 softball regional semifinal Wednesday at Auburndale High School.
The Eagles (18-3), winners of 10 games in a row, will host No. 4 seed Marathon (9-12) for a D-4 regional championship on Thursday at 5 p.m. at Auburndale High School.
Morgan Griesbach tossed a four-inning one-hit shutout, finishing with nine strikeouts and one walk, for Auburndale, which finished off the game via the 15-run rule after scoring three times in the fourth.
Breleigh Grimm had three hits and Danika Blomberg drove in three runs for the Eagles.
Griesbach, Grimm, Sammy Stanton, Taylor Anderson and Hope Schulte each drove in two runs for Auburndale.
