Marshfield’s No. 1 doubles team of Rens-Jepson lose first match at WIAA D-1 boys tennis sectional

EAU CLAIRE – Marshfield’s No. 1 doubles team of Kai Rens and Will Jepson lost its first match and was eliminated from competition at a WIAA Division 1 Boys Tennis Sectional on Wednesday at the Menard YMCA Tennis Center.

Rens and Jepson lost a quarterfinal match to Henry Whipkey and Sam Majerus of River Falls 6-3, 6-1, to end their season.

Menomonie won the team title, which combines points from the subsectional and sectional meets, and advance to the WIAA State Team Boys Tennis Tournament on June 7-8 at Nielsen Tennis Stadium in Madison.

The top four finishers in No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles, and the winner of the No. 2 singles and No. 2 doubles flights qualify for the 2024 WIAA State Individual Tennis Tournament at Nielsen Tennis Stadium in Madison on May 30-June 1. Click here to view the automatic qualifiers
