Auburndale baseball shuts out Peshtigo in WIAA Division 3 regional quarterfinal

AUBURNDALE – Aden Cherney and Blake Raab combined on a five-inning two-hit shutout as the Auburndale baseball team rolled past Peshtigo 10-0 in a WIAA Division 3 regional quarterfinal Thursday at Auburndale High School.

Cherney allowed two hits and four innings and Raab finished off the win with a scoreless fifth as the No. 6 seed Eagles (12-5) advance to a regional semifinal on Tuesday at No. 3 seed Marathon, a 16-0 winner over Menominee Indian on Thursday.

Caden Weinfurter and Ayden Raab each had two-run singles in an eight-run third inning to blew the game open for Auburndale. Ayden Raab and Peyton Weinfurter each had two hits in the win.
