AUBURNDALE – Jenny Lindner scored 13 of her game-high 15 points in the second half to help Neillsville pull away to a 39-26 win over Auburndale in a nonconference girls basketball game Tuesday night at Auburndale High School.
Neillsville (11-0), ranked sixth in Division 3 in the latest Wissports.net State Coaches Poll, led 4-2 after one quarter and 9-8 at halftime before opening up its lead in the second half, outscoring Auburndale 12-6 in the third quarter and 18-12 in the fourth.
Auburndale (9-2), ranked seventh in Division 4, made only nine field goals and was 6 of 7 from the free-throw line in losing just its second game of the season.
Kelly Tomfohrde led the Apaches with nine points, five coming in the fourth quarter.
Auburndale hosts Stratford on Thursday in a Marawood Conference South Division game.
