GILMAN – Spencer used a big advantage from the free-throw line to beat Gilman 40-36 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division boys basketball game Tuesday at Gilman High School.
Steven Gilboy scored 20 points and grabbed seven rebounds to help the Rockets snap a three-game losing streak and improve to 4-7 and 4-6 in the Cloverbelt East. Gilman falls to 4-7, 4-5 in conference.
Spencer was 18 of 26 from the free-throw line, while Gilman was just 8 of 12.
All four quarters were close, with Spencer winning the second by three to take a 17-15 hafltime lead, and the fourth by two to maintain its slim lead.
Travis Gallick had 17 points and eight rebounds, and Lucas Lato had 15 points for the Pirates.
Spencer hosts Augusta on Friday night at 7:30 p.m.
