STRATFORD – Vance Kielman smacked a three-run home run to cap a four-run outburst in the first inning and Stratford cruised to a 7-1 win over Crandon in a WIAA Division 3 baseball regional semifinal Tuesday at the Tiger Stadium Baseball Field.

Brady Berger had an RBI single before Kielman’s blast that gave Stratford pitcher Henry Zaleski more than he need.

Zaleski went the distance, striking out three and allowing just four hits and one run, to earn the win for the Tigers (19-5) and send them into a regional final.

Stratford will take on the winner of Wednesday’s game between Auburndale and Marathon at home on Thursday at 5 p.m. for the regional championship and a sectional berth. The Auburndale at Marathon matchup was rained out on Tuesday.

Berg finished with three hits, and Riley Spindler, Landon Zawislan and Alec Chapel all had two hits each for the Tigers.
