Marshfield JV, varsity boys basketball teams roll past Tomah

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield JV and varsity boys basketball teams enjoyed blowout victories over Tomah on Tuesday night in nonconference action at the Marshfield High School Fieldhouse.

The Tigers’ JV team won 55-27 while the varsity blew past the Timberwolves 62-36.

Isaac Accola had 12 points to lead 11 Tigers who scored in the JV team’s victory. Luke olson added nine points and Mack Scheppler and Ben Satter each had six. Marshfield improves to 7-6.

In the varsity game, the Tigers drilled 12 3-pointers, a season-high, including five each from Elliot Ashbeck (23 points) and Cale Zuiker (21 points).

Marshfield led 30-16 at halftime and poured it on the third quarter, outscoring Tomah (1-10) 20-6 to open up a 28-point lead.

Marshfield’s varsity team improves to 12-1 heading into its showdown with undefeated Wisconsin Rapids (12-0) on Friday at the Fieldhouse in a girls-boys doubleheader. The girls game starts at 6:15 p.m. with the boys game to follow at approximately 8 p.m.
