Marshfield Junior Legion baseball opens season with tight win over D.C. Everest

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Post 54 Junior American Legion baseball team opened its 2024 summer season with a 7-6 win over D.C. Everest on Friday night at Safford Field.

Drew Lang and Tyler Kremer had RBI singles in the bottom of the fifth inning to give Marshfield the lead after D.C. Everest had rallied to tie the game at 5-5 with back-to-back two run frames.

Kremer earned the win on the mound, striking out five in five innings. Tyler Kumm allowed one run in two innings to earn the save and finish off the victory for the Junior Devils.

Kremer and Mason Anderson each had two hits, with Anderson and Kumm both knocked in two runs for Marshfield.

Marshfield will host De Pere for a doubleheader Sunday at Safford Field beginning at noon.
