MARSHFIELD – Plover used a four-run sixth inning to pull past Marshfield 6-2 in a Senior American Legion baseball game Tuesday night at Jack Hackman Field.

Adam Gilbertson walked with the bases loaded in the first inning to give the Blue Devils (3-0) a quick 1-0 lead.

Plover pitcher Braylen Nystrom settled in after that, limiting Marshfield to just one more run – that coming on an RBI single by Gilbertson in the fifth which tied the game at 2-2.

Plover then scored four times in the fifth to pull away and Nystrom went the distance, striking out seven, to earn the win.

Emmitt Konieczny and Gilbertson each had two hits for Marshfield, which had eight in all.

Marshfield plays at Stevens Point on Wednesday. The Junior teams play at 5 p.m. with the Senior teams to follow at approximately 7:30 p.m.
