Marshfield landed four players on the second team of the 2024 All-Wisconsin Valley Conference Softball Team, as voted on by the seven conference coaches following the season.
Marshfield junior infielder Madison Kraus, senior outfielder Shylah Brogan, senior pitcher Katelyn Sternweis and freshman catcher Lillian Griesbach were among the 11 players picked to the second team.
Kraus batted. 368 with six RBI, Brogan hit .333 with one home run, nine RBI and eight runs scored, and Griesbach hit a team-best .457 with six RBI in conference play for Marshfield, which finished 6-6.
Sternweis earned the decision in all 12 of Marshfield’s WVC games, finishing with a 2.57 earned run average. She ranked first in the conference in innings pitched with 68 and second in strikeouts with 79.
D.C. Everest junior pitcher Addison Kluck was named Player of the Year. She finished the season with a 9-2 record, losing both of those decisions by 1-0 scores. She allowed just two runs in 12 appearances, finishing with a 0.12 ERA as she struck out 123 in 59 1/3 innings and walked only one batter.
Marshfield senior shortstop Ashlyn Barwick was the lone Tiger to earn honorable mention accolades.
