WISCONSIN RAPIDS – For the second time this week, the Marshfield Post 54 Legion baseball team lost to the Stevens Point Sixers.
Following a loss at Stevens Point on Wednesday, the Blue Devils dropped a 6-3 decision in a rematch at the Wisconsin Rapids Tournament on Friday at Lincoln High School.
Marshfield struck first in the second inning when Adam Gilbertson tripled and pinch runner Cain Toufar scored on a fielder’s choice grounder by Aden Cherney.

Bryce Erickson singled, stole second, went to third on a single by Gilbertson and scored on a sacrifice fly by Chase Robinson, knotting the score at 2-2.
The tie was short-lived as the Sixers poured on three runs in the fifth on three consecutive hits – a double by Noah Marschke, a triple by Peyton Flees and a single by Caden Adam.
Stevens Point tacked on another in the sixth before Marshfield finished off the scoring on an RBI single by Gilbertson in the bottom of the frame.
