Marshfield Senior Legion falls in final inning to D.C. Everest

WESTON – D.C. Everest scored the winning run on an error with the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh inning, earning a walk-off 3-2 win over Marshfield in a Senior American Legion baseball game Thursday at Simon Field.

Marshfield pulled out to a 2-0 lead as Aden Cherney singled home a run in the second inning and Jakob Sadowska stole home in the third.

D.C. Everest tied the game in the fifth on RBI singles by Pierson MacDonald and Nate Langbehn and the score held at 2-2 until the seventh.

Two singles and a walk loaded the bases for Everest in the bottom of the seventh, and J.J. Louis was able to score on a one-out error to end the game.

Marshfield (2-8, 0-4 Wisconsin Valley Legion Conference) will be at home Friday for a nonconference doubleheader against Medford beginning at 5 p.m. at Jack Hackman Field.
