Tomahawk ends Marshfield boys hockey team’s win streak at two

MARSHFIELD – Tomahawk scored four unanswered goals over the first two period and snapped Marshfield’s two-game winning streak, beating the Tigers 4-1 in a nonconference boys hockey game Thursday at the Marshfield Youth Ice Recreation Arena.

Matt Gerber scored the only goal in the first period and added another in the first 3 minutes of the second period to help the Hatchets jump out to a 2-0 lead.

Craig Swan and Stephan Uagerer added goals in the next four minutes to open up a 4-0 lead for Tomahawk.

Marshfield scored its only goal midway through the third period when Zac Alboreo scored on assists from Bo Howard and Tom Claessens at the 8:08 mark.

Mac Alboreo had 25 saves for the Tigers, who fall to 5-9 on the season.

Marshfield plays at Chequamegon in another nonconference game on Saturday.
