Columbus Catholic earns three spots, Spencer two on first team of 2024 All-Cloverbelt Conference East Division Baseball Team

Champion Marshfield Columbus Catholic had three players named to the first team of the 2024 All-Cloverbelt Conference East Division Baseball Team, as voted on by the conference coaches following the season.

Columbus Catholic senior pitcher/infielder Emmitt Konieczny was named Co-Player of the Year, along with Neillsville senior Bryce Erickson.

Senior first baseman/pitcher Cy Becker and sophomore pitcher/catcher/infielder Mac Konieczny were also named to the first team for the Dons, who won the Cloverbelt East title with a perfect 10-0 record.

Spencer juniors Reed Knecht and Tyler Peterson were also among the 10 first-team selections.

Emmitt Konieczny batted .438 with 13 RBI and six stolen bases, while going 4-0 on the mound with a 1.37 earned-run average for the Dons.

Mac Konieczny hit .452 with 11 RBI and was 1-0 pitching, while Becker hit .323 with 13 RBI, five steals and two saves pitching for Columbus.

Knecht hit .534 overall this season with eight doubles, 10 RBI, 18 runs scored and 22 stolen bases for Spencer.

Peterson went 2-3 for the Rockets with a 3.10 ERA, striking out 52 in 10 appearances.

Columbus Catholic senior Blake Jakobi, sophomore Devlin Timmler, and freshmen Carter Sommer and Carson Eckes were named to the second team.
