STEVENS POINT – Marshfield won six of the 11 events but came up just a few points short in an 88-81 loss to Stevens Point Area Senior High in a Wisconsin Valley Conference boys swim meet Thursday at SPASH.
Aaron Scheets won the 200-yard individual medley (2:15.58) and 100 backstroke (1:00.24), Ade Dillon took first in the 50 freestyle (24.34) and 100 butterfly (1:00.65) and both teamed with Jake Akin and Michael Josephson to win the 200 medley (1:49.23) and 400 freestyle relays (3:40.59).
“We had many season-best and personal-best times,” Marshfield coach Faye Egger said. “We look forward to meeting the Panthers again at the conference meet in February.”
Josephson took second in the 100 breaststroke (1:09.82), Thomas Stevening-Roe was second in the 100 back (1:02.94) and Akin was second in the 100 free (57.13).
Marshfield hosts Medford in a nonconference meet Monday and will be back in Wisconsin Valley Conference action Jan. 27 at Horace Mann Middle School in Wausau against Wausau East.
