MARSHFIELD – What could have been an exciting come-from-behind walk-off win turned into something for the Marshfield Post 54 Senior American Legion baseball team.
Marshfield came back from a 2-0 deficit to tie the game on a two-run double to Chase Robinson in the sixth inning.
The game remained tied going into the eighth inning before Marshfield’s defense let them down.
Four errors, four walks and five hits led to an 11-run inning for D.C. Everest (4-3 Wisconsin Valley Legion Conference).
J.J. Louis and Nate Langbehn each drove in three runs for D.C. Everest.
Owen Griesbach and Robinson each had two hits for Marshfield, which drops to 4-9 overall and 1-5 in the WVLC.
Marshfield will compete in the three-day Chippewa Falls Tournament starting Friday with a game against Eau Claire at 5:30 p.m. at Casper Park.
