Walks prove costly as Marshfield Junior Legion baseball loses to Germantown in Antigo Tournament opener

ANTIGO – Germantown scored 15 runs in the top of the fourth inning, erasing a one-run deficit and walking with a 21-7 victory over Marshfield on Friday in the opening game of the weekend Antigo Junior Legion Baseball Tournament.

Marshfield led 7-6 heading into the fourth before its pitching imploded, walking 13 batters in the frame. The free passes, combined with five hits, led to the 15-run inning. The game ended after four innings.

Tyler Kumm had two hits and drove in a run for Marshfield, which falls to 6-6.

The Blue Devils will look to rebound Saturday against Holmen at 3 p.m.
