Former Columbus Catholic, Marshfield, Auburndale players take part in WBCA All-Star Games

WISCONSIN DELLS – The 2024 Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association State All-Star Games were held June 26-27 at JustAGame Fieldhouse.

Five divisional girls games were held Wednesday, June 26, and five boys games were played Thursday, June 27, pitting the top recently graduated seniors from across the state.

A number of players from Central Wisconsin competed in the two-day event. Here is a recap of the action:

GIRLS
Division 1: South 94, North 51

Marshfield’s Ashley Grancorvitz and Ayana Bousum each made a 3-pointer and finished with three points for the North squad in the loss.

Adriana Gonzalez of Kenosha Indian Trail scored 24 points and Reagan Briggs of Verona had 21 for the South.

Germantown’s Lucy Leniger led the North team with 14 points.

Division 2: North 56, South 37
Sydney Whitehouse of Green Bay Notre Dame scored 17 points to lead the North team to the win.

Mia Ott of Merrill scored three points on a 3-pointer for the North.

Hailey Testolin topped the South with nine points.

Division 3: North 63, South 48
Molly Janke of Ellsworth scored 21 points to pace the North to the victory.
Amherst’s Scout Spadoni finished with two points for the North.

Gracie Gopalan of Waupun scored nine points to lead the South team.

Division 4: North 80, South 68
The North cruised out to a 31-9 after one quarter as Neillsville’s Paris Opelt scored 10 of her game-high 20 points and held on the rest of the way.

Ashley Chilson of Eau Claire Regis added 13 points for the North.

Linsdey Schadwalt of New Glarus and Erin Knowles of Boscobel each had 13 points for the South.

Division 5: South 78, North 52
Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah’s Coryn Fromm made five 3-pointers and scored a game-high 29 points for the South in the victory.

Mackenzie Tarman of Turtle Lake led the North with 12 points, and Sophia Coker of Athens added eight, six in the first half.

BOYS
Division 1: White 138, Black 118

Neenah’s Brady Corso had a game-high 32 points, which included six 3-pointers, as the White team warned the win.

Oshkosh North’s Stevie Clark had 26 points to top the Black team. Carter Combs of Stevens Point finished with four points for the Black.

Division 2: Black 143, White 113
The Black team scored 84 points in the second half, rolling to the win as New Berlin Eisenhower’s Ari Mimani and Isiah Allen of Milwaukee Lutheran both scored 22 points.

Tanner Hraby of Medford had nine points, Landon Thomer of Mosinee scored six and Isaac Rozwadowski of Wausau East had five for the White team.

Division 3: Black 144, White 114
The Black team cruised to a 30-point lead behind 28 points from Whitefish Bay Dominican’s Jaiden Martin and 24 from Zay Howards of Beloit Turner.

Henry Hoel of Stanley-Boyd and Cody Schmitz of Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau each had 15 points for the White team.

Division 4: White 123, Black 108
Eight players scored in double figures for the White team in the win, led by Jaxon Tilton of Unity, had had 18 points.

Auburndale graduate Caden Weinfurter finished with 12 points, making four 3-pointers in the first half, for White.

Marathon’s Tyler Underwood scored eight points in the loss for Black.

Division 5: Black 133, White 110
The Black team scored 43 points in the fourth quarter to pull away for the win.

The game pitted Marshfield Columbus Catholic teammates as Emmitt Konieczny made five 3-pointers and scored 15 points for the Black squad, which had 15 3’s in all. Columbus Catholic’s Charlie Moore knocked down four 3-pointers and finished with 14 points, and Blake Jakobi had three 3-pointers and scored nine points for the White team.

Isaiah Kastern of Solon Springs had 25 points for the Black, and J.J. McKellips of Oshkosh Lourdes led the White with 22 points.
