CHIPPEWA FALLS – The Marshfield Post 54 Senior Legion baseball team won a pair of games Sunday at Casper Park to finish the three-game Chippewa Falls Legion Tournament with a 3-1 record.
Marshfield hammered River Falls 10-2 and came from behind to beat host Chippewa Falls 7-3, improving to 7-10 this season.
In the opener against River Falls, the Blue Devils put together three consecutive three-run innings to open the game and took control from the start.
Chase Robinson had three hits and scored three times, Aden Cherney also had three hits and drove in two runs, and Emmitt Konieczny had a single, a double and three RBI in the win for Marshfield.
Nathan Richardson picked up the pitching win, allowing two runs over five innings.
Marshfield fell behind 3-1 after two innings before roaring back to plate four runs in the fourth and went on to defeat Chippewa Falls to close out the tournament Sunday night.
Emmitt Konieczny went 6 1/3 innings, allowing three runs with four strikeouts to earn the win for the Blue Devils.
Marshfield continued its hot hitting, cracking out 11 hits, including four doubles. Robinson was 3-for-3 with two RBI, and Jakob Sadowska added a pair of hits and drove in two as well for the Blue Devils.
Marshfield will host Medford for a doubleheader on Monday at Jack Hackman Field beginning at 5 p.m.
